If water is running right now
- Close the irrigation shutoff valve. This isolates the irrigation system without shutting off water to the house. Where to find it.
- Set the controller to off or rain mode. Not unplugged — many units lose their program, and off keeps the schedule intact.
- Call 770.335.8595. A zone that will not shut off, or a meter spinning with everything off, is continuous water loss. That is worth a phone call rather than a form.
If closing the shutoff valve stops it, the fault is on the irrigation side and the situation is now stable. If water keeps running, that is a plumbing matter beyond the irrigation system and needs a plumber.
What to have ready
Five minutes of observation before you call turns into repair time instead of diagnostic time, and the first hour is diagnosis plus repair.
| Question | Why we ask |
|---|---|
| Which zones fail, and which are fine? | One zone down points somewhere completely different from all zones down |
| Does a zone run if you start it manually? | If it runs manually, the fault may be programming rather than hardware |
| Can you hear valves clicking when a zone is called? | Clicking with no water means the electrical side works and the problem is water supply |
| Does the water meter move with everything off? | That is a mainline leak or a seeping valve — it runs around the clock |
| What changed around the time it stopped? | A storm, a freeze, a fence install, landscaping or trenching each suggest a different fault |
| Has the water bill changed? | Puts a rough scale on how much water is being lost |
| How many zones, and where are the controller and valve boxes? | Determines how long a diagnosis takes before anyone arrives |
Not sure what to look for? This walks through checking the system yourself — and tells you where to stop.

Before you call
Call 770.335.8595 if water is running now, if a zone will not shut off, or if you need someone today. Use the form for anything that can wait a day — form requests get a response in under 24 hours.
Which zones are affected and which are fine — that single distinction narrows the diagnosis more than anything else. Then: whether the controller runs a zone manually, whether you can hear valves clicking at the manifold, whether the water meter moves with everything off, what changed around the time it stopped, and whether there has been any digging, fencing or landscaping work.
We can tell you our rates, what the first hour covers, and what this kind of fault usually turns out to be. What we cannot honestly do is price the repair before diagnosing it. You get an estimate on site, before work begins and before any digging.
Close the irrigation shutoff valve and set the controller to off. That stops a zone stuck open and a leak on the irrigation side without shutting off water to the house. If you cannot find the shutoff, this explains where to look.
It helps, mainly so you can point at the symptom and so we can confirm the repair with you before leaving. Access to the controller and the valve boxes is the practical requirement.
